Installation Warranty & Service Terms
Professional flooring installation in Toronto and the GTA
At FloorSure, we take pride in delivering professional flooring installation services in Toronto and the GTA. To ensure a smooth project and long-lasting flooring performance, please review the following installation terms and warranty information.
Installation Workmanship Warranty
FloorSure provides a 1-year workmanship warranty on flooring installation services. This warranty covers installation-related issues resulting from improper workmanship. If a problem related to installation occurs within the warranty period, FloorSure will inspect the issue and perform necessary repairs to correct the installation.
This warranty applies to labor only.
The warranty does not cover:
- Water damage or moisture-related damage
- Scratches or damage caused by normal use
- Damage caused by furniture, pets, or human activity
- Improper maintenance or environmental conditions
- Flooring installed on uneven or structurally compromised subfloors
Flooring Product Warranty
Flooring product warranties are provided by the manufacturer or brand of the flooring product, not by FloorSure. Most flooring manufacturers provide limited product warranties ranging from 15 to 30 years, depending on the product type and brand.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the warranty terms provided by the manufacturer. These warranties commonly exclude issues caused by:
- Improper environmental conditions (temperature or humidity)
- Water exposure or flooding
- Improper maintenance or cleaning products
- Structural movement of the building or subfloor
Maintaining proper indoor climate conditions will help preserve flooring performance and warranty coverage.
Required Site Conditions Before Installation
To ensure proper installation and product performance, the work site must meet the following conditions before installation begins:
- Access to electricity and water
- Climate-controlled environment with HVAC operating (heat or air conditioning)
- Installation area cleared of personal items and small furniture
Customers should also review the project scope with the installer upon arrival to confirm that the materials and work listed on the invoice are accurate.
Furniture and Appliances
Customers are responsible for removing personal items and fragile objects prior to installation. While installers may assist with moving certain furniture, FloorSure is not responsible for damages or missing items related to furniture movement.
We do not move:
- Aquariums
- Pianos
- Pool tables
- Antique or extremely heavy furniture
Appliances connected to water, gas, or electrical lines must be disconnected before installation begins. If installers assist with moving appliances, customers remain responsible for reconnecting them and ensuring proper function afterward. FloorSure is not liable for water leaks or damage resulting from appliance connections.
Subfloor and Foundation Conditions
Existing subfloors and foundations may contain conditions that cannot be identified until the existing flooring is removed. Examples include:
- Uneven subfloors
- Adhesive residue
- Additional layers of flooring
- Structural or moisture issues
Any required subfloor preparation, leveling, or repairs may result in additional costs. FloorSure will not be responsible for installation issues caused by:
- Structural movement
- Foundation settlement
- Moisture originating from beneath the subfloor
Installation warranty may be void if flooring is installed on an uneven or structurally compromised surface. Minor subfloor squeaks may be addressed by refastening, but FloorSure does not guarantee complete elimination of floor squeaks.
Natural Material Variations
Hardwood flooring and natural stone are natural products that may contain variations in:
- Color
- Grain patterns
- Knots
- Mineral streaks
These characteristics are normal and are not considered defects.
Dust and Construction Debris
Flooring installation and demolition can generate dust depending on the scope of work. Unless cleaning services are included in the invoice, FloorSure is not responsible for deep cleaning the property after installation. However, installers will remove construction debris and sweep the work area before leaving the site.
Flooring materials may be cut inside the property unless otherwise specified in the project agreement.
Additional Work and Material Shortages
If project measurements provided by the customer differ from the actual installation area, additional materials and labor may be required. Customers are responsible for covering costs related to:
- Additional materials
- Additional labor
- Extra delivery charges
Any changes to the original project scope must be approved and documented before work proceeds.
Scheduling and Project Delays
Project timelines are estimates and may change due to conditions beyond the control of FloorSure, including site conditions or unforeseen circumstances discovered during installation. Once a project has been scheduled and installers are dispatched, rescheduling requests may result in additional costs.
